Greenbrier Honors Volunteer Month

Greenbrier is dedicated to serving and investing in the communities where we operate, making them better places to live and work. In part, we do this through initiatives including community action days, scholarship funding and corporate donations.

In addition, we support volunteerism among employees. April is Volunteer Month, a time to recognize and honor the people who give their time to better their communities. Greenbrier is proud to showcase a handful of employees from across the United States working to make a positive impact on others.

Our philanthropic investments create opportunities for employees and external stakeholders to work together and improve our local communities. Learn more by reading our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report.

Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas

While working in the mental health field, I noticed that food insecurity that exists for so many children. On the weekends, many kids only eat one meal per day, which could be fast food. So my mother and I got involved with the NEA Foodbank. We help in many ways such as volunteering, donation drives, as well as social media promotion and outreach to get folks to attend the food donation sites.

Greene County Animal Farm

I am very passionate about every living thing deserving love and kindness. The Animal Farm is a no-kill shelter and they are full of cats and dogs who spend their lives in a cage so I like to go and love on them whenever possible. After everything these animals have been through, they still love people.

It was an honor for my wife and I to serve alongside 11 other fantastic volunteers during Spring Break 2022 in the remote mountains of Guatemala.

Agape House, In His Wings

I volunteer because I know what it is like to be where these people are. I want these women to have a better life and I want them to know that they deserve it! The time I spent at the Agape House made me the person I am today. I love seeing the differences in each person from week to week as they grow in their relationship with Christ

Parkour Visions

During the pandemic, I joined the volunteer board of Parkour Visions, a NW Parkour nonprofit, after my indoor parkour gym closed. Parkour is a movement art where practitioners use obstacles to navigate space creatively and/or efficiently. We at Parkour Visions believe that parkour and play-based movement arts are among the most powerful pathways to lifelong physical, emotional, and social health. I also really enjoy representing the organization in the community through our “Leave no Trace” park cleanup jams and other community meetups.

Habitat for Humanity

Providing a home for your family is one of the strongest instincts we have as human beings. When that basic need is met, it allows people to build better lives for themselves and their children. Animals are so giving and add so much to our lives, but they are not able to advocate for themselves and often suffer as a result. I feel it’s important to do that for them in any way we can.
